Group Director Talent & Learning

Group Director Talent & Learning (32 – 40 hours)
Based in Belgium, Netherlands or UK

The Group Director Talent & Learning defines the vision & strategy for the entire Renewi organization in the field of Talent & Learning (Talent Acquisition & Onboarding, Talent- & Performance Mgt, Talent Review & Succession, Career Management and Learning & Development). The Talent & Learning vision & strategy ensures that we get the right talent into the right position, delivering the highest impact on our business strategy. In that context, you also will ensure an optimal design (basics in order) so that the formulated strategy can also be implemented uniformly and consistently. This requires coordination with other organizational units and Management Directors of the various divisions. Therefore stakeholder management is crucial to get the organization on board with the change.

Your team:
The Group Director Talent & Learning reports to the Group HR Director / CHRO and you will be a member of the HR Leadership Team. You will lead the Learning- and Talent Acquisition Team, in total 20 FTE (direct + indirect).
In this hybrid role you can be based anywhere, as long as your location is a Renewi location.

Your results:

  • The vision and strategy in the field of Talent & Learning for the entire organization has been determined and is in line with the strategic positioning and direction of the organization and the strategic HR policy.
  • The processes, procedures and working methods are designed optimally and as effectively and efficiently as possible so that they contribute to a uniform, consistent and correct implementation of the policy.
  • Contributes to the strategy formulation of the HR policy at Group level based on their specific expertise.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Directs, develops and formulates the developed vision in the field of Talent & Learning and translates the Strategic HR policy into policies and (annual) plans for Talent & Learning; therefore gives direction to the desired Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, Performance Management, Talent Review & Succession, Career Management and Learning & Development objectives in the long term of the organization;
  • Stimulates and facilitates behavioral change within the organization in line with policy and (project) objectives.
  • Owns and sometimes leads Talent & Learning projects; draws up project plans and aims for realization in accordance with the project objectives and preconditions; creates support within the organization for adjustments.
  • Advises senior management solicited and unsolicited on Talent & Learning issues and initiates proposals for improvement; acts as a source of information and an expert for the organization.
  • Provides reports and management information to the HR Group director / Managing director about the effects of Talent & Learning (policy) implementation based on research and analysis and ensures adequate information provision both periodically and on request and thus contributes to the formation of HR policy.

What we believe will help you to be successful in this role:

  • 15+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in leading and developing a department (both in terms of span of control and complexity).
  • International business and organizational experience.
  • Deep expertise of Talent Acquisition & Onboarding, Performance Mgt, Talent Review & Succession, Career Management and Learning & Development.
  • Experience in setting up and managing multidisciplinary projects.
  • Strong, determined, energetic self-starter, positive, supportive and passionate.
  • Excellent communication skills (in English and preferably some Dutch) to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
