Lisette - Manager Talent Acquisition at Renewi 

Lisette started her career at one of Renewi's predecessors as an HR officer. Having just become a mother, she was looking for a part-time position to combine work and home life. She soon advanced to the role of HR Business Partner within the Commercial Waste division in the Netherlands. In that position, she was responsible for staff departments such as Finance, SHEQ and Sales. 

Temporary opportunity leads to permanent career move 

A few years ago, Lisette had the opportunity to temporarily take on the role of Manager Talent Acquisition, replacing a colleague who was working on a project. At the same time, this offered her the opportunity to develop more broadly. She liked the temporary assignment so much that she made the move to Talent Acquisition permanent. 

Leading an international recruitment team 

In her current role as Manager Talent Acquisition, she manages a team across both the Netherlands and Belgium. She is also responsible for several projects, including the implementation of a new recruitment system. "It is a great challenge to think creatively about the ultimate candidate experience within the available options," Lisette says. The next step is to optimally set up the recruitment module in Workday, Renewi's new HR system. 

A close-knit team with an eye for quality 

She is proud of how her team has developed: “My team members really immersed themselves in the organisation and the colleagues they work with closely when filling vacancies. As a result, they deliver real added value.” Remarkably, the team has been working in the same format for a long time - something rare in the world of recruitment. “It's nice to see everyone enjoying their roles.” 

Sustainability as part of your work mentality 

Working at Renewi has changed Lisette's outlook on sustainability. “You never look at waste the same way again, that's for sure. I have become much more aware of my own impact. That sustainable mindset can be seen in all my colleagues.”
