At Renewi, we get excited about recycling materials. Over two-thirds of the materials we collect from our customers can be treated and processed. For the coming years, we are ramping up the ambition: where is reuse possible, how do we make sure we really value scarce raw materials? At the Business Development, Strategy & Sustainability team, we focus on that development. You could say: operations focuses on the 'run' of the business, we focus on the 'change' of the business. We see the focus on sustainability and recycling as a driver of the company's commercial growth.
Renewi is often at the end of the chain: recycling concerns the processing of waste. But equally, we are at the beginning of the chain: from the plastic of discarded refrigerators, for example, we make plastic granules that Playmobil uses to make toys. In our team, we therefore need flexible and creative colleagues.
You know who the other players in the chain are, and with whom cooperation is obvious - but also where such cooperation still needs to be initiated.
Government policies, in both The Hague and Brussels, have a major impact on our business. Regulation can speed up developments; failure to regulate can make us impatient. Communicating our objectives in word and deed is important, that applies to all colleagues at Renewi, and of course to our team.
There is a commitment when recycling materials: that we maximise the reuse of our raw materials.
If you want to make that commitment, that hope your job, you've come to the right place at Renewi.
Kind regards,
Bruno Bruins
