Designing large scale digital solutions is a highly collaborative process that requires ongoing communication, coordination and cooperation across many people and teams. This process is led by the Agile Architect.
The topics the Agile Architect will be presented with day to day will be varied and occasionally vague.
The Agile Architect will be expected to have an understanding of typical Renewi business processes, up-to-date knowledge of multiple relevant technologies for
Renewi and effective skills around Agile Architecture methodologies. The Agile Architect must have excellent communication and analysis skills.
The Agile Architect will work with parties outside of their department, including external, who may have diverging interests.
Core tasks
- Formulate and communicate architectural intent and high-level end-to-end
solution design for business needs. - Guide specialist roles (e.g. DevOps Engineers) in co-creating more detailed
(emergent) solution design when needed. - Guide the process of defining architecture standards, patterns, principles and guidelines by the teams.
- Ensure security by design practises are followed, leading to secure IT
solutions. - Validate technology assumptions and solution design in practice, during and
after implementation. - Drive continuous improvement in solution design and Agile Architecture
practises. - Define and guide ‘enabler work’ (e.g. epics and features) to implementation.
- Together with functional roles (e.g. a Business Analyst or Product Owner) help the business with defining compliance requirements and non-functional
requirements for their needs. - Together with other roles in the organization (e.g. Business Process Owners,
RTEs, Business Analysts, Product Owners, etc.) plan, refine, coordinate and
prioritize work on program or feature level with a focus on the architecture
perspective. - Proactively identify and respond to technology-enabled business opportunities.
- Ideate practical, technical possibilities that represent value to the business.
Evaluate technology trade-offs. Recommend strategic technology decisions,
balancing implementation cost and business value. - Secure and propagate the (Agile) architectural way of working within the IT
organization and towards relevant business stakeholders.

Your profile
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Information Technology or Information Management, or comparable work experience.
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant IT architecture experience or comparable skills with ability to acquire missing IT architecture competencies in a short time-frame.
- Up-to-date knowledge of multiple technologies that are used in the IT landscape of Renewi or knowledge of comparable technologies and ability to acquire missing relevant technology knowledge in a short time-frame.
- Knowledge and awareness of architecture tools, methods and frameworks, pragmatic in applying them in a corporate mid-size organization and Agile context.
