Matthijs – Manager IT Processes, Tools & Integration 

Together with my girlfriend, I live in the fortified town of Heusden. I’m originally from Noordwijk and studied in Maastricht and Leiden, receiving my Master’s in History in 2013. 
In my free time, I still enjoy reading history books and regularly meet up with friends at our favorite pub in Den Bosch. 

 

From ERP to digital transformation in the circular economy 

 Before joining Renewi, I worked for almost eight enjoyable years at an ERP provider in Helvoirt, specializing in the construction and infrastructure sector. During that time, I held various roles, including account manager and operations manager. Over time, I felt ready for the next step in my career. 

During my job search, I was approached by Renewi, and I was immediately enthusiastic. The scale and complexity of an internationally operating market leader appealed to me. At the same time, I saw an opportunity to apply my knowledge and experience in a sector closely related to construction and infrastructure. The overlap between these industries makes my work at Renewi especially interesting. Moreover, Renewi is an innovative and socially responsible company, which is a strong motivator for me. 

 

Leading IT processes, tools and integration 

 As Manager IT Processes, Tools & Integration, I lead a team focused on developing and optimizing IT processes, managing supporting tools, and enabling system integrations. We ensure that colleagues can navigate our IT processes smoothly and efficiently, maintaining high standards of delivery and quality while driving further digitalization within Renewi. 

My work sits at the intersection of technology, process improvement, and collaboration. I consistently aim for simplification, standardization, and reliability. Within strategic programs such as Future Fit, I act as a connecting link between IT, the business, and external partners. 

In doing so, I help Renewi build a digital foundation that supports the acceleration of the circular economy and ensures the organisation remains future-proof. 

 

Future Fit: powering Renewi’s digital future 

 One of the projects I’m highly energized by is Future Fit, a program aimed at renewing and harmonising our IT landscape. It’s inspiring to contribute to this. Together, we improve processes and make digital solutions more user-friendly. 

Through smart technologies and digital support, we directly contribute to Renewi’s mission: accelerating the circular economy. With Future Fit, we are enhancing our digital capabilities, helping Renewi remain a leader in sustainability and innovation.
