Graduation Internship (Plastics) Recycling

Are you a motivated higher education (HBO or university) student with independent working skills? Are you looking for a challenging internship with a focus on sustainability? And would you like to learn more about the world of (plastics) recycling? Then Renewi is looking for you!

Graduation Internship (Plastics) Recycling
Location: Waalwijk

At Renewi, we tackle many technical challenges to contribute to high-quality waste reuse. At our Coolrec site (a Renewi subsidiary) in Waalwijk, we collect old electrical and electronic devices, where we recycle plastic components to give them a new life.

What Will You Be Doing?

As an intern at Coolrec, you'll have the opportunity to actively contribute to our recycling process. You’ll focus on various technical aspects, with the option to choose from one of the following topics:

  • Life Cycle Analyses: At Coolrec, high-quality plastic recycling goes hand in hand with conducting Life Cycle Analyses (LCAs) for several large projects. These analyses are crucial to assess the total environmental impact of the recycled materials. Here’s where we need your support to keep the database up to date through research.
  • Analysing the Plastics Process Line: You’ll delve into the specifics of the recycling process and examine what happens in our Plastics Process Line. For example, where does the material flow during recycling? Think of metals in plastics, water flows, etc. Your fresh perspective and ideas will be valuable in providing new insights into this process.

You'll work closely with a diverse team of experienced colleagues who will guide you through various aspects of the recycling process. This way, you’ll learn the trade secrets and directly contribute to innovative solutions within the circular economy.

What Do You Bring as an Intern?

  • A relevant HBO or university degree in a field such as Industrial Engineering or Engineering.
  • Looking for an internship starting in February 2025.
  • Strong communication skills in Dutch and preferably in English.
  • A self-reliant, proactive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • "Thinking-outside-the-box" mentality.

What Do We Offer?

  • A monthly internship allowance of €500,00 gross based on a 40-hour work week.
  • A graduation internship.
  • Freedom and space for your ideas and initiatives, with the chance to develop and implement them yourself.
  • Insight into the world of sustainability within a technical environment.
