SHEQ Officer E-waste - Waalwijk, fulltime

As our new SHEQ Officer E-Waste, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the future of safe, smart, and sustainable recycling operations, particularly in the fast-evolving world of electronic waste.

We’re looking for a curious and driven SHEQ professional who can act as a true sparring partner on the shop floor and at the management table—and who sees this role as a stepping stone to becoming our next Manager SHEQ in the future.

Your mission:

• Safety & Compliance: Ensure the site meets and continuously improves all SHEQ goals (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality).
• Serve as the SHEQ point of contact at our Waalwijk site for all health, safety, environmental and quality-related questions.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives across all four sites of our E-Waste business (Dordrecht (NL), Liège (BE), and Lesquin (FR), applying Lean and CI methodologies to optimize processes and reduce risks.
• Identify risks and opportunities, contribute to audits, and ensure compliance with SHEQ standards and legislation.
• Partner with operational leaders and contribute strategically at MT level, ensuring safety and quality are embedded into every decision.
• Support and help shape a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge-sharing, and proactive SHEQ engagement.

Your Team:

You will be part of the E-Waste SHEQ team (5 persons in total) and you will report to the Manager SHEQ E-Waste. You will work closely with the MT members of our site in Waalwijk and will initially visit our other sites. You will also become part of our wider, international SHEQ community. A strong network of professionals who share knowledge, collaborate across business units, and continuously strive to improve safety, quality, and sustainability.

What do you Bring?

• A proactive SHEQ professional with at least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing, logistics, or recycling environment.
• You have a Continuous Improvement mindset—Lean Six Sigma experience is a strong plus.
• You’re naturally curious, solution-oriented, and not afraid to challenge the status quo.
• You’re comfortable working across different levels—from the shop floor to the management team.
• You’re fluent in English and you can manage yourself in Dutch (all permits are in Dutch) and French is a plus.
• You’re flexible to travel a few times per month to other Renewi locations (Dordrecht, Liege and Lesquin).

Our procedure:

• First interviews, via Teams or on site in Waalwijk or Eindhoven: Tuesday May 6th or Thursday May 8th.
• Second interviews on site in Waalwijk with a selection of senior management in the week of 12th of May. You’ll have the opportunity to visit the site on this day
