Manager Health & Wellbeing

Health & Safety is not an HR topic. It's a business priority.

Manager Health & Wellbeing

Full-time | Hybrid | Centrally located

At Renewi, we believe safety, health and wellbeing of our people directly impacts our customer experience and with that business results.
We are looking for a both strategic and pragmatic Health Manager who can build a strong health and wellbeing organisation across Renewi. This is a countries-spanning role with a primary focus on the Netherlands and Belgium and it is not a specialist or advisory role. We are looking for a visionary builder: someone who understands health topics, knows how to translate them into practical tools and management routines, and can create real ownership among leaders in both corporate and operational environments.

Your impact:

You’ll develop and embed a clear health and wellbeing approach that enables managers to take responsibility for the health and wellbeing of their teams. Your work will contribute directly to reducing sickness absence, improving sustainable employability, organisational capability and strengthening a culture in which health is seen as a shared leadership responsibility.

You will:

  • Build and implement a company-wide health and wellbeing approach that fits both a corporate setting and a highly operational, site-based organisation.
  • Build, lead and develop a team of case managers and specialists to drive and work together with mangers on the health agenda
  • Create the structure, tools, dashboards and routines that help managers understand, discuss and act on health and wellbeing topics.
  • Drive ownership among line managers by making health and wellbeing practical, measurable and part of day-to-day leadership.
  • Translate health-related data, sickness absence trends and business insights into clear priorities, interventions and measurable actions.
  • Develop board-level reporting on health, wellbeing, sickness absence, risks, progress and impact.
  • Work closely with HR, Operations, HSE, Finance and external partners to align health initiatives with business priorities and financial impact.
  • Support change by engaging stakeholders, influencing leadership behaviour and embedding health thinking into the organisation.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce sickness absence and improve sustainable employability through prevention, early intervention and manager capability.
  • Ensure Renewi has the right external partners, processes and governance in place to deliver effective health and wellbeing support.

Who you are:

You know that health and wellbeing is not achieved through one-off initiatives, but by building leadership ownership, clear routines and practical support. You are comfortable moving between the boardroom and the shop floor, and you know how to make complex topics understandable, actionable and relevant for managers.

You bring vision, structure and persistence. You can challenge where needed, connect easily with different stakeholders and create momentum around a topic that directly impacts people, performance and culture.

You bring:

  • Experience in health, sustainable employability, occupational health, HR, HSE or a related discipline within a complex operational environment.
  • Proven ability to build organisational capability through governance, processes, tools and leadership ownership.
  • Strong business awareness and understanding of the business impact of absence, productivity and workforce performance.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and embedding change across an organisation.
  • Analytical, pragmatic and action-oriented, with the ability to translate data into meaningful business decisions.

Why join Renewi:

This is a rare opportunity to shape and build an agenda that has direct impact on both people and performance.

You will help create an organisation where health and wellbeing are not standalone initiatives, but an integral part of leadership and operational excellence.

With the freedom to build, the mandate to influence and the visibility to make a real difference, this is a role for someone who wants to leave a lasting mark on the business.

We offer:

  • A hybrid working environment with flexibility
  • Competitive compensation: max €8.500 per month, 8% holiday allowance, bonus
  • Max 15%, company car or mobility budget, 27,5 holiday days

Ready for a role where you can build, influence and make a lasting difference?

Apply before July 13 and help us grow our impact in the circular economy.
