Suleiman - System DevOps Engineer

My name is Suleiman, I am 32 years old and I work as a software engineer at Renewi. I now live in Antwerp with my wife and two cats. 

After finishing my WO degree in English literature in my home country, I came to the Netherlands and started a new study chapter in the software engineering department at the Hogeschool van Arnhem en Nijmegen (HAN).

I started at Renewi as a developer of the legacy system at Renewi. I then made the transition to the cloud, where I fulfill the role of systems engineer.

Given that Renewi is going through an IT upgrade, I was given the opportunity to be involved in various aspects of this, which I was able to learn a lot from.

Renewi is making the world a little better, and I enjoy contributing to that. This also makes me a proud “ProudNewi” (a term we use internally). At home I try to live consciously according to our motto “waste no more” by always using recycled products, such as shopping bags instead of plastic bags, and whenever possible I go to markets to support local people.

I am proud of my perseverance and the way I have improved my situation, values that are also reflected by Renewi. this is how I actively contribute to the growth of the company.
