Alison Mpouki - Lifecycle Programme Manager

Milton Keynes

Alison Mpouki joined the company in 2011. She started as a Management Assistant to the Managing Director. After a couple of years, she moved to project management administration, where she helped several Project Managers during the construction of different sites across the UK. ‘It was very interesting and exciting seeing things take shape’.
Her ambition and motivation pushed her to keep developing new skills. With the support of her Line Manager, who saw her potential, she managed to grow within Renewi and gain a project management qualification. “I think supportive line managers are really important and I've been fortunate to have very good Line Managers in Renewi.’

Currently, she is a Lifecycle Programme Manager. In this role, she looks at the ‘big picture’ reviewing many projects to improve the use and management of resources and delivering greater surety levels around forecasting. This is for the bigger projects across the different sites. However, they also support and advise the sites on smaller projects. ‘It’s making sure that the relevant assets are good and that each business can run properly and safely!’

As part of the Engineering and Performance team, Alison works with different colleagues who have their own expertise.
The available knowledge and experience is very useful when working on different projects.  ‘It's really important to have that connection with your colleagues and our team is really great at sharing information and working with one another.’

Working at Renewi has made Alison more aware of sustainability. ‘I'm very wary about things like cling film because we don't understand that those materials clog up the process within the sites. So I'm very careful about which bins I'm putting them in at home and trying to encourage my family to look at the labels and see what can be recycled to make sure that it’s separated as best as we can.’
Alison feels that her work is important and appreciated. Renewi works hard to make the world a bit better. ‘I do certainly feel appreciated for all my skills and for what I bring to the business. People recognize that you do good work. As a team and as a business we could share those successes more.’
